Bulk Email Marketing - Is It Legal?

Bulk email software is computer software which is used in conjunction with the internet to send emails to a number of persons. The term "bulk email" is generally used when referring to bulk email. Bulk email generally refers to emails which contain more than one subject line and more than one message. Bulk mail is usually sent to a list of recipients who have indicated that they prefer to receive emails from a particular company.

It is important to remember that bulk email marketing is generally only suitable for businesses that deal in a specific niche or field and which aim for a mass audience. Bulk email is usually sent as a promotional strategy and may be used to promote a new product or service, solicit feedback, build relationship with existing customers and much more. For any business, particularly small businesses, bulk mailings are generally considered as a valuable method of promoting their products or services. For this reason, it is important to ensure that your marketing campaign does not violate spam laws. Although Internet marketing is a fairly new concept, spam law has made certain amendments which open the door to certain marketing strategies.

Before embarking on a bulk email campaign, it is important to first establish a system of quality control and hygiene checks. A good way to start is to ask potential recipients to complete a survey or a questionnaire. You can then analyze this information to find out which recipients you should target, based on their answers. Once you have established a system of quality control and hygiene checks, you can then build your lists. However, you must remember to avoid sending unsolicited bulk email.

In order to ensure that your bulk email lists do not contain any unwanted subscribers, you need to carefully select the list members. Make sure that the recipients you choose to have given their consent to be on your lists. Most people generally only allow themselves to be on certain lists - for instance, they may have opted in to receive regular emails regarding certain items, or perhaps have signed up to receive information about specific products or services. If your bulk email lists are comprised of persons who have not specifically indicated that they wish to receive information from your business, you will not be able to successfully market to them.

One method of ensuring that your recipients do not sign up to be on any mailing list is to offer an incentive to do so. This could be as simple as providing the recipient with a free eBook or other digital product as a sign up bonus when they subscribe to your bulk email list. Alternatively, you could offer your potential recipients a promotional price for purchasing an item or service through your website. These prices will often vary by service, but will still usually be relatively low compared to the cost of purchasing individual email addresses.

As mentioned previously, spam law is making its way into the online world more and as such companies that send bulk email marketing emails will need to follow certain guidelines in order to stay within the law. You should always educate yourself about the anti-spam laws in your country and instruct your employees to never reply directly to the recipient of these emails. If caught doing it in the act, you could find yourself and your company becoming the center of a new investigation.
